Jose Jimenez Farias

Jose Jimenez Farias, of San Benito, TX, passed away on March 3, 2019 at the age of 97.  He was born on February 28, 1922 to Angel Farias Hinojosa and Elvira Jimenez Farias in Rancho El Capote, Tamps., Mexico.

Jose loved to spend time gardening and he loved to dance.

He is survived by his children, Idalia F. (Ramon) Flores, Irma F. (Pancho) Ramirez, Joel (Yolanda) Farias, Noelia F. (Felix) Cantu, Jose Manuel Farias, Jose Angel (Emma) Farias, Segundo Farias, Nilda (Jimmy) Ramos; 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Evangelina Farias Garza; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Maria Gonzales.

His wife, Josefa Farias; a son; his parents, Angel and Elvira J. Farias; three brothers; and, three sisters preceded Jose in death.

The Farias family will be receiving friends and family on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 1:00 to 9:00 PM at San Benito Funeral Home.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Catholic Church.  Following the mass, Jose will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are, Rene Ayala, Isaac Yzaguirre, Jose A. Farias, Carlos Cantu, Ismael Ramirez, and Raul Garcia.

Jose’s family is grateful to the staff of Believe In Us Primary Home Health as well as the Valley Baptist Medical Center Team.  They extend a special word of thanks to Dr. Hillary Chollet, Dr. James W. Castillo, Annette and Henrietta of Kindred Hospice, and to the caring staff of Solara Hospital for their support and comfort.
