Marco Antonio Lara, III

September 15, 1985 ~ March 9, 2023 (age 37) 37 Years Old

Tribute

Marco Antonio “Marc” Lara, III came to this world 37 years ago, challenged with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. He had many battles throughout his life with illnesses and surgeries, but he was a fighter. Our only wish for him was to be healthy and happy and for most of his life he was. Although Marc was unable to communicate with us verbally, he communicated through his actions and by the way he lived life. He taught us all so many valuable lessons that we will never forget. He was such an amazing son and will forever be in our hearts. We are so heartbroken, and our lives will never be the same in his absence, as our world revolved around his. We were always happy to see his beautiful smile, nose-to-nose kisses, and his tight hugs. Marc was a graduate of Harlingen High South, Class of 2005. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, camping, and good food.

Rest in peace our beautiful son.

Marc is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Abel Toscano, Jr.; paternal grandfather, Marco Antonio Lara, Sr.; and paternal grandmother, Marie Helen Lara.

Left to treasure Marc’s memory are his loving parents, Tony and Molly Lara; his brother, Jonathan (Ma. Fernanda) Lara; nephew, Abel Alexander Lara; and his maternal grandmother, Elida Toscano. Marc also leaves behind his wonderful Godmothers, Laura (Rudy) Gonzalez, Sara Garcia, and Rosie Garcia; Godfather, Mike Urrutia; and, many loving uncles and aunts, cousins, family members, and friends.

Our thanks to  Michael “Mike” Watson, PA, and the incredible ICU health care professionals who never left Marc’s side and provided the best care ever at Valley Baptist Medical Center – Harlingen, his doctor, Rolando Posada MD, and Nurse Practitioner Janie for their general health care (Harlingen),  Dr. Nolan Perez, Gastroenterology (Harlingen), and Dr. Sandeep Patel, Gastroenterology, University Hospital (San Antonio). We also wish to thank Margie, Lupita, and Liz and all of the wonderful staff at New Beginnings, HCSP, LLC. (Harlingen)
