Maria Lily Rodriguez

Maria Lily Rodriguez, 95, a native of El Calaboz, Texas, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, November 3, 2017 in Harlingen, Texas. Lily was born to Cresencio and Gertrudis Rodriguez on Sunday, February 26, 1922. She helped raise her brothers and sisters, their children, and their grandchildren. Lily was “Nana” to everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cresencio and Gertrudis Rodriguez, her brothers Jose Rodriguez, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Plutarco Rodriguez, and Rosalio Rodriguez, her sisters Maria Venos Gallegos and Elida Montemayor.
Lily is survived by Guadalupe Rodriguez (Enriqueta), Cresencio Rodriguez (Celeste), Jose Rodriguez (Sharon), Manuel Rodriguez (Sophia), Cresencio Rodriguez, and Estella Montemayor.
Visitation and viewing will be Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in El Ranchito, Texas. Enterment will follow at El Calaboz Cemetery.
The entire Rodriguez family extends their sincerest gratitude to Nayali Medina for her great care and dedication to Lily.
Honored to serve as active pallbearers are Luis Javier Alcalde, Jr., Rosalio Rodriguez, Jr., Ricardo Gonzalez, Jr., Raul Ignacio Rodriguez, Jesse Gallegos, Henry Montemayor, and Rodolpho Montemayor. Honorary pallbearers will be Gertrudis Contreras, Dianna Lee Rodriguez, Luisa Montemayor, Melida Gonzalez, Raquel Gomez, Gloria Voydrzal, and Maria Eliza Cooper.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to San Benito Funeral Home.
