Robert L. Frasier

October 22, 1950 — August 28, 2021

Robert L. (RL) Frasier escaped the surly bonds of this earth on Saturday, August 28, 2021. He is preceded in death by his younger brother, Billy Frasier.

He leaves behind his parents Robert & Sybil Frasier, sisters Pamela Frasier, Paula Feight and her husband Don, nephews Frasier and Aaron Feight, and Franklin (his "filthy" cat).

RL was renowned in the field of Hybridizing Bromeliads and for his vast knowledge of tropical plants. As a teen, he was fascinated with his grandmother's love of growing, she taught him well.

RL graduated from Texas A&M University and was a long-time member, often serving as a Board member, of the Bromeliad Society, Cycad Society, as well as other Palm, Orchid, Cactus & Succulent organizations. Most recently he was a Board member for the Brownsville Zoo.

We will miss our big brother. Many friends have come forward to tell us of the kind & generous things he did and about his dry, but effective, sense of humor.

RL was born in El Campo, TX, lived in Austin before retiring to the Magic Valley of South Texas. He lived in Costa Rica for a time as well. He had friends around the world and will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, per RL's request, please donate to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org).
