Rowland Seecharan passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 after a long battle with illness. He was born on October 9, 1932 to Karl and Leonine Seecharan and was one of five siblings.
Rowland travelled extensively in a long career that crossed three continents. He met Jean, his loving wife of 61 years, in London, England. He trained in London to become a pharmacist and worked in the United Kingdom, Trinidad, Zambia, and the United States, ultimately settling in the Rio Grande Valley.
He is survived by his wife, Jean, who cared for him to the end and was with him when he passed. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren who are now spread all over the world, and two sisters. They all treasure his memory and love him dearly.
Rowland’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock on Thursday evening. (The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be available for viewing via live-stream at www.sanbenitofuneralhome.com) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Harlingen. Following the Mass, Rowland will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
